Locking elements

You can lock elements to prevent you from accidentally moving or resizing them, or changing their settings.

Additionally, locked elements will allow you to draw a selection rectangle from atop them, rather than capturing your click immediately. This makes it very useful to lock elements that you use below other elements, such as section backgrounds or images with type on them.

To lock an element or multiple elements, select them, then

The Inspector Use the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons in the "Arrange" tab of the inspector. If this box is checked, you can still assign to and edit assets in this element, even if it's currently clocked.

By checking the box Allow editing content while locked, it remains possible to assign assets to the box (like dragging images to an image box), even though the box is locked.

This is useful when working with templates, where you might want to prevent an element from being edited, but still allow users to assign their own content to it.

When an element is locked, its highlight rectangle is drawn in a different style when it is selected.

Locked elements will behave like any other elements on the page when you publish your story.
