Enabling interactive images
In pagestrip, you can make your images shine by making them interactive, so that your readers can pinch/zoom them on their touch devices and/or switch to a fullscreen version of your image at high resolution.
You can also choose a completely different viewport for the fullscreen version of your image, which can be entirely independent of your image mask.
The following options are available:
- Pinchable images can be grabbed by a user on touch devices, moved and scaled, but will snap back to their position when they are released.
- Allow Fullscreen enables users to switch to a fullscreen version of your image. You need to enable Pinchable in order to enable a fullscreen version.
If you allow an image to go into fullscreen mode, you can choose a fullscreen viewport by clicking the “Edit Fullscreen” button in the inspector. You will be presented with a modal sheet in which you can define a viewport that you want to be visible in fullscreen mode — This viewport can be completely different from the visible part of a masked image.
For your readers, pagestrip will animate nicely between the image mask and fullscreen viewport, allowing you to create quite some nifty effects.
Captions can be edited in its full functionality – just like a normal text. Note that when you choose to show captions, the text is automatically connected to the image. The moment you delete the image your caption will be deleted too!
You can change your fullscreen viewport at any time. However, be aware that if you change your image mask after setting a fullscreen viewport, the viewport might get reset if the new image mask cannot be reconciled with it.
